The 3rd infantry division Museum at Ft Stewart in Hinesville is the destination of our upcoming field trip on Saturday, November 5th. If you remember, James Atwater, l the museum director, was LAHS July speaker. What this museum has done, and will continue to do, is collect, preserve and display historic artifacts, provide a place for educational and historical programs, and support research and training opportunities.

The main gallery there is dedicated to the history of the 3rd infantry division and all its many artifacts and collections. The "Thunder Room "gallery is about the assault into Bagdad by the 2nd Brigade and contains video of the assault itself.

The 3^rd and 4^th galleries tell the history of Ft Stewart and its supporting air fields such as Hunter Army Air Field.
